Delete your account
You can permanently delete your Ourlee account at any time. We don't make you call anyone or fill out a long form. There are three ways to do it.
1. From inside the Ourlee app (fastest)
- Open Ourlee on your phone or in your browser at www.ourlee.app.
- Go to the You tab → Privacy & data.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is queued for deletion immediately. You'll be signed out of every device.
2. By email
If you can't sign in, email [email protected] from the email address tied to your account (or include enough information for us to identify it). Use the subject line "Account deletion request".
We'll confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.
3. Through Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS)
Both platforms offer their own account-deletion request flows for apps installed from their stores. They route the request to us and we handle it through the same pipeline as the in-app option above.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, sign-in identity, and partner link.
- Notes, photos, plans, goals, calendar events, prayer entries, and reactions you created.
- Push-notification tokens and device records.
- Active subscriptions are cancelled.
What we keep — and for how long
- Shared couple content remains accessible to your linked partner for 30 days after deletion (so they aren't suddenly cut off mid-week). After 30 days, anything authored by you is permanently removed.
- Encrypted backups are pruned within 90 days of deletion.
- Legal and billing records (invoices, fraud signals, anything we're required to keep) are retained for the period required by law — typically up to 7 years — and isolated from anything user-facing.
This action is permanent
Once deletion completes, we cannot recover your content. If you want a copy first, request an export from You → Privacy & data → Export my data before you delete. The export is emailed as a ZIP with your notes, photo links, plans, goals, and calendar events.
